The Joy of the Lord
As we continue our journey through this week's passage, let's delve into Elizabeth's profound words to Mary in Luke 1:43-44:
"43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy."
Isn't it captivating that Elizabeth recognized Mary as the mother of her Lord? Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, how could she have possessed such profound insight into God's plan for Mary?
Remarkably, Jesus' presence brought joy to those around Him, even while He was still in the womb! Elizabeth's unborn child's reaction to Jesus' presence further emphasizes this truth.
So, let us carry this reminder with us today: Jesus is YOUR Lord, and He is the ultimate source of our joy!
