Serving without Fear

Nov 29, 2023

Yesterday, we explored how Zechariah's doubts didn't hinder God's promises and plans for him. Today, we'll delve deeper into Zechariah's inspired words as he comprehends the fulfillment of God's promise in Jesus. Let's examine verses 71-75:

71 “that we should be saved from our enemies

    and from the hand of all who hate us;

72 to show the mercy promised to our fathers

    and to remember his holy covenant,

73 the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us

74 that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,

might serve him without fear,

75  in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

Zechariah beautifully articulates our response to God's gift of Jesus: "We are delivered from our enemies (or our sin) so that we can serve him without fear!" Jesus' purity and righteousness have liberated us to live and serve Him, knowing that we are forgiven and redeemed. Every breath we take is a gift from God, a gift we can use to freely glorify Him!

Monday's Challenge:

Reach out to someone older and wiser than yourself and express your gratitude for their positive influence on your life. Share how God has used them in your journey.

If you feel like the "old wise one," reach out to a peer who also carries that wisdom. Express your appreciation and share how God has used them in your life. :)
