Refugees face immense challenges. Forced to leave their homes due to persecution, conflict, violence, or human rights violations, over 100 million individuals have been displaced worldwide, according to the UNHCR. Now, more than ever, we are witnessing record-breaking levels of displacement.
As Christians, we are called to embody Christ's teachings and show compassion to those in need. By partnering with Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest, we can uplift and empower refugees on their journey toward a brighter future.
Hebrews 13:1-2 urges us to "Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters" and to "show hospitality to strangers." By extending our compassion, we embody Christ's teachings and fulfill our Christian duty to love and bless those around us.
