Did You Know...
The first time the word "love" is used in the Bible is in Genesis 22, when God tests Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac. This story teaches us that the foundational meaning of love is sacrifice. It is not a feeling or emotion, but selflessness and putting others before ourselves.
Jesus, the beloved Son of God, demonstrated the true meaning of love by sacrificing His life for us. He said, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13).
We are called to follow in Jesus' footsteps and love others through sacrifice. This may mean serving our spouse, children, neighbors, or strangers. It may mean giving our time, money, or resources to help others in need.
Today, love someone through sacrifice. Be selfless and put others before yourself. Find someone to serve and show them the love of God.
