Campus & Facilities Updates

Celebrating what God is doing—thanks to your generosity

Because of God’s faithfulness and the generosity of our church family, we’ve been able to care for and improve our campus in meaningful ways. These updates reflect months of planning, stewardship, and behind-the-scenes work that help our campus serve ministry every day of the week.

Below you’ll find updates on several major projects, repairs, and improvements across our Gilbert campus over the past year — along with what’s coming next.

Current updates reflect our Gilbert Campus

A quick look at what’s happened and what’s ahead

Take a moment to watch this short video update filmed at our Gilbert campus, where Dan Morton shares a snapshot of recent progress and upcoming priorities.

Air Conditioning Updates

Preparing wisely for the seasons ahead

We have over 60 air conditioning units across our Gilbert campus. This past summer marked the end of life for five large, aging units—some dating back to the 1980s. At the same time, the cost of HVAC equipment and refrigerant has more than doubled over the past several years, creating a significant increase in replacement costs.

As part of this work, we also remodeled the spaces where these units are housed. These improvements help reduce future servicing costs, increase efficiency, and position us for more sustainable maintenance in the years ahead. We’re grateful to be entering the coming warm seasons with greater stability and foresight.

Energy Management System

Improving efficiency while maintaining comfort

Over the past six months, we partnered with a top-tier energy management vendor to improve how energy is used across campus. As a result, we are already seeing approximately 20% savings in our monthly energy costs.

You may have noticed new thermostats in some spaces. What may not be visible is that this system is now integrated with our scheduling database—meaning air conditioning is automatically adjusted based on room usage. Spaces are comfortable when people arrive, while unused areas aren’t consuming unnecessary energy. This is a meaningful win for stewardship and sustainability.

Security Fencing & Cameras

You may have noticed new fencing along the north side of our campus, which significantly improves security during school hours and on Sundays. In addition, new security cameras have been installed throughout the courtyard and around the campus perimeter, with final installations nearing completion.

These upgrades allow our team to more effectively monitor campus spaces and support a safe environment for students, families, and guests. We’re especially thankful that much of this work was made possible through state and federal grants, along with staff and volunteer labor.

Gala-Funded Projects

Because of your generosity
Several important campus upgrades have moved forward thanks to Gala giving. These projects support worship, school programming, athletics, and community events—all while enhancing long-term functionality.

Tech & AV Updates (Gym) — 90% Complete
Technology and AV improvements in the gym are nearly finished. These upgrades enhance sound, video, and overall production quality for special services, school sporting events, and campus gatherings.

Gym Divider
A new gym divider is currently being installed, allowing the space to be used more efficiently for PE classes and athletic events. This addition increases flexibility and supports safer, more effective use of the gym.

Courtyard Shade Structure

Careful planning for a central gathering space

We are deeply committed to creating a beautiful and functional shade structure for our Center Courtyard—a vital space for fellowship, school lunch, and daily campus life.

Over the past months, we’ve worked closely with our selected vendor and carefully evaluated multiple bids and design options to ensure the best outcome. We are now finalizing detailed plans, which are currently under review to meet the Town of Gilbert’s permitting and design standards.

This project is a centerpiece for our campus, and we’re dedicated to ensuring it enhances the courtyard with lasting beauty and function. To balance eagerness with wise stewardship—and to prioritize safety during our busiest seasons—we are currently projecting construction to begin shortly after Easter, when courtyard traffic is reduced.

Please know that designated funds donated for this project are being held specifically for this purpose, and we are working diligently to ensure the highest quality, aesthetic, and logistical standards.

Kingdom Impact

More than buildings — it’s about ministry

These projects represent far more than physical improvements. Every upgraded system, repaired space, and security enhancement supports the daily ministry happening on this campus — worship, discipleship, education, care, and community life throughout the week.

Your generosity is actively shaping a campus that serves people with excellence and care.

What Happens Next

Looking ahead with gratitude and intention

As we continue caring for and improving our campus, upcoming priorities include:

  • Finalizing remaining security camera installations
  • Completing gym tech and AV upgrades
  • Advancing the courtyard shade structure through permitting and construction planning
  • Addressing additional campus repairs and improvements as needs arise

We’re grateful for your continued prayers, support, and generosity. This page will be updated as new milestones are reached.
