Did you know that the word "blessing" in the Bible comes from the Hebrew word "barak," which means "gift" or "present"? The very first blessings in the Bible are from God to His creation, culminating in His blessing us with the gift of rest on the seventh day. So in essence, every day is a blessing or a gift from God to us.

Kids are experts at receiving gifts. Birthdays and Christmas are so much fun because of the sheer delight on their faces as they receive presents from people who love them. Well, in the world of blessings, God is inviting us to be a little kid again and receive a gift from someone who loves us so much.

Here is what we invite you to do: Hold out your hands like you are about to receive a gift and receive this blessing from God's Word in Romans 15:13: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

This blessing is a gift of joy, peace, and hope. It is a gift that can sustain us through even the most difficult of times. It is a gift that we can receive every day, over and over again.
