Every Step Made a Difference

Over the past several weeks, individuals and families across our church have said “yes” to trust, generosity, and deeper faith. And now we get to see the fruit.

Here’s just a glimpse of what God has done through the 90-Day Giving Challenge so far.

“God is Good!” — Elliot Emerson

During VBS, kids decorated pencil pouches and donated money to help provide school supplies for children in Guatemala. Elliot Emerson shared about his six-year-old brother, Ean, who gave half the money from his wallet—$26—and tucked it into the pouch he decorated. As Elliot put it:

“There are many ways that we can help show God’s love by generously giving our time, talents, and treasures. God is GOOD!”

“Good Vibrations on Both Sides” — Maury Ahlman

Maury reflected on the blessing of serving each week with a dedicated team of volunteers who sort donated clothing for people experiencing homelessness in Mesa and Tempe. Even a few hours of volunteering creates ripple effects of joy and care. As Maury put it:

“Giving of one’s time is most beneficial, both to the ‘giver’ and the ‘receiver.’ God provides good vibrations on both sides of the spectrum.”

“Continuing to Trust” — Harry Garrett

Harry Garrett shared about his personal journey of generosity through seasons of change. He and his late wife gave 12% of their income faithfully, and after her passing, he chose to keep giving at the same level—even when his income was cut in half. As Harry simply said:

“I’m continuing the same level now and ongoing.”

It’s More Than Numbers

Behind every story is a heart. Behind every act of generosity is a step of trust.

God has used every one of these gifts—big or small—to move ministry forward and draw people closer to Him.
