regathering

of the people of God

Regathering on both campuses has started!

We are very excited to be regathering on both the Gilbert and East Mesa Campuses on Sundays! We recognize these guidelines represent changes to the last time we met on campus, and change is often uncomfortable. The Coronavirus has forced change upon each of us to varying degrees, and we have learned to adapt to these changes. We appreciate your help, patience, understanding, participation, and prayers as we navigate these uncharted waters. Remember, we are all doing something we have never done before. As we have seen over the past few months, things can and do change quickly. These guidelines are subject to change as the guidance from our state and federal governments changes. We will continue to update you, so please check your email, social media, and CG App regularly.

Guidelines for Return to Limited Capacity Worship Services
Each service will be under an hour to allow for extensive cleaning between services.  Social distancing is required and masks are required upon entering and exiting the building but may be removed once you get to your seat and during the service. Capacity for each service will be under 150.  Therefore, we are asking everyone to RSVP so that we are able to stay within that capacity. We will also be confirming that each attendee is on the RSVP list as they enter.

We need everyone’s help in our goal to keep all attending healthy and safe. Your actions will play a large part in our ability to accomplish this goal. We encourage every member to self-evaluate prior to attending each Worship Service. If you feel sick, have a temperature over 100.5 degrees, are coughing, sneezing, or have a cold, please stay home. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. If you are in this category, we encourage you to engage with the CG Community online.

*Please note:  If you start to feel ill during a service or in the days following, please report that to the church office. It will assist in protecting others should a case arise in the congregation.

General
  • If you are ill, at a higher risk of COVID-19 due to a health condition, or in a high-risk age group, we advise you to stay home and engage with the CG Community online.
  • Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your selected service and enter the Worship Center or Life Center through the clearly marked doors.
  • As each person enters, we will verify their RSVP to keep within the under 150 person guidelines.
  • Regarding masks, CG operates like a restaurant setting for weekly worship:
    • You will need to wear a mask when entering and exiting the worship spaces.
    • Once seated, six feet away from others, you may remove your mask for worship.
    • We suggest you wear your mask anytime you are not at your seat or social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Nursery will be available for a limited number of children, ages 3 years and under.
  • CG Kids is back at both campuses! Ages 3-5th grade! CGKids will now be offered during the Gilbert 9:00, 9:30 & 11:00 services and the East Mesa service. Kids check in at the kiosk in the courtyard and start in worship with their families then get dismissed after the children’s message. Parents pick up in the theatre (Gilbert) or in the courtyard (East Mesa), at the end of service.
  • Hand sanitizer is available before and after each service.
  • Practice keeping a social distance of at least 6' from those who do not live under your roof.
  • At the end of the service, please follow the pastor's instructions for dismissal.
  • While we all miss each other, we ask that you do not congregate before or after the service. Also, please refrain from having close contact with each other before, during, or after the service.
  • Communion will be offered in individual cups. Please dispose of them in the marked trash bins.
  • To reduce your exposure, there will be: No LSB’s, pew Bibles, attendance cards, or paper and pens in the pew backs. No paper bulletins distributed. No printed sermon outlines available. However, we encourage you to fill out the Connect Card or send prayer requests on our  CG Mobile App.
  • Electronic giving will continue to be available here and CG Mobile App. Thank you for your continued generosity.
We are so looking forward to regathering for worship!  As we plan and prepare to keep you safe and healthy as you come back on campus, there are a few precautions we would like to share with you.
